Summary
This policy explains what data the OMH app and omhev.com collect and what we do with it. The short version:
- We collect your account details, your location while you use the app, your charging sessions and what we need to bill you.
- We use them so you can find chargers, charge and pay, and to keep the app running.
- We share them with the operator of the charger you use, with the payment gateway and with the providers that host our infrastructure. We don't sell them to anyone.
- You can see, correct and delete your data, and delete your account from the app or from the web.
- If something is unclear, write to the email at the end of this page.
The full version follows.
Who this policy covers
It covers the OMH driver app on the App Store and Google Play, and the omhev.com website, including its contact form.
OMH also provides its platform to charging operators who publish their own branded app. If you use one of those apps, the operator that publishes it is responsible for your data and its privacy policy applies. OMH processes the data on that operator's behalf.
What data we collect
| Category | Examples | How we get it |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, email, phone number, password (stored encrypted) | You enter it when you sign up |
| Vehicle | Make, model and plate, if you choose to add them | You enter it in your profile |
| Precise location | Your GPS position while the app is open | Through the permission you grant on your phone |
| Charging sessions | Charger, date and time, kWh, duration and cost | Generated when you charge |
| Payments | Payment method, last four digits of the card, status of each charge | The payment gateway returns them to us; your full card number never passes through OMH |
| Device and usage | Model, operating system, device identifier, language, app version, screens you visit, errors | Collected automatically by the app |
| Support | What you write to us when you ask for help | You send it |
| Website | Name, email, company and message from the contact form | You send it |
We don't ask for sensitive data: no biometrics, no health data, nothing about your beliefs or origin.
What we use your data for
- Create and maintain your account, and recognize you when you sign in.
- Show you nearby chargers and get you to them.
- Start and end your charging sessions, and bill what you used.
- Send you the receipt for each session and notices about it, such as when your charge is done.
- Handle your support requests.
- Detect fraud, misuse or security failures.
- Understand how the app is used and fix bugs. For this we use usage data and crash reports, aggregated where possible.
- Meet legal obligations, such as issuing invoices and keeping accounting records.
- Send you commercial updates, only if you opt in. You can opt out any time from the app or from the message itself.
Location
The app uses your precise location to show you the nearest chargers and guide you to them. It only reads it while the app is open. We don't track you in the background.
You can revoke the permission in your phone settings whenever you want. The app keeps working: you'll need to search for chargers by address or on the map.
Who we share your data with
Charging point operators
When you charge, the operator of that charger receives what it needs to provide the service and bill for it: an identifier for your account, the session details, the energy delivered and the amount. Each operator is responsible for that data under its own policy.
Payment gateways
They process your payments and receive your card or payment details directly. They are certified under the PCI DSS standard.
Service providers
Companies that give us cloud hosting, email and message delivery, usage analytics and error monitoring. They may only use the data to provide that service to us.
Authorities
When a law, a court order or a competent authority requires it.
A new company
If OMH merges with or is acquired by another company, your data would pass to the new entity under this same policy. We would tell you first.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers or use it to show you third-party ads.
International transfers
Our providers may store and process your data on servers outside your country, including the United States. When that happens, we do it with countries your national authority recognizes as offering adequate protection, with contractual clauses that bind the provider to protect your data, or with your authorization.
How long we keep your data
| Data | Period |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | While your account is active, and up to 30 days after you delete it |
| Charging sessions and payments | As long as your country's accounting and tax rules require, even after you delete the account |
| Location | Only during the session; we keep the charger where you charged, not your route |
| Usage and error data | Up to 14 months, then only in aggregate |
| Support messages and web form | Up to 24 months from the last contact |
Security
Data travels encrypted between your phone and our servers. Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Internal access is limited to the people who need it for their work. No system is foolproof; if we detect an incident that affects your data, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Your rights
You can:
- Know what data we hold about you and request a copy.
- Correct data that is incomplete or wrong.
- Delete it, when we have no legal obligation to keep it.
- Withdraw the authorization you gave us.
- Object to commercial communications.
- Receive your data in a format you can take with you, where your country's law provides for it.
Most of these you can do from the app, in your profile. For the rest, write to the email at the end of this page. We reply within the period your country's law sets. Deadlines and authorities by country are listed below.
Deleting your account
You can delete it from the app, in your account section, or from the link at the end of this page if you no longer have the app installed.
When you delete it, we erase your profile and account data within 30 days. We keep session and payment records for as long as accounting law requires, no longer linked to your name.
Minors
The app is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor created an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Country-specific information
Colombia
OMH processes your data under Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013, compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015. By creating your account and accepting this policy you give your prior, express and informed authorization for the processing described here.
You have the right to know, update, correct and delete your data, and to revoke your authorization. To exercise them, write to the email at the end of this page; that is the area in charge of queries and complaints. We answer queries within ten business days and complaints within fifteen, counted from the day after we receive them. If we need more time, we'll tell you before the deadline.
If you believe we didn't handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio once you have raised it with OMH first.
This policy is in force from the date shown at the top. Databases are kept for as long as our relationship with you lasts and for the legal periods described above.

United States
If you live in California, we grant you the rights of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): to know what data we collect and why, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for exercising them. The categories we collect are those in the table above. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising based on your behavior on other sites, so no "Do Not Sell or Share" link is needed. You can exercise your rights from the app or by email, directly or through an authorized agent. If you live in another state with a privacy law, you have equivalent rights and we handle them the same way.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
The app isn't offered in these territories for now. If you use it from there anyway, we apply the General Data Protection Regulation. We process your data to perform our contract with you, on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, with your consent for location and commercial communications, and to meet legal obligations. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you can complain to your country's supervisory authority. Transfers outside the EEA are made under standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If we change something important, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date and version at the top of the page show which one is current.
